Now, entering my 23nd year in the industry, I have managed to learn a few things along the way: Trust must be earned. Keep clients informed. If you pay attention to the “little things”, the “big things” turn out fine. And most importantly---KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT!
Not surprisingly, I bring these same principles to my mortgage clients. I answer the phone or call back promptly. Yes, it seems so trivial…but how often do we find others “just letting it go to voice mail”? Taking the personal responsibility to deliver effective, professional communication to all parties as needed, is one of my strengths.
There is no substitute for experience, expertise and attention to detail in a business that is built on details. I like it best when I can bring all that to a customer in a “personalized” approach — addressing one’s unique and specific needs in the borrowing process. That’s when it’s really fun! Interestingly, many of the people I have helped with a loan have become good friends long after their loan has closed. Staying in touch, taking a personal interest, going the “extra mile” engenders a trust that makes it easy for former clients to refer me to others who are seeking the help of a mortgage professional. Equally important to me is my family. My husband Jim, my 5 children and their families, my husband's 2 children and their families with our combined 12 Grandchildren. They keep us very active and busy. We love to travel, the outdoors and anything near water.
